I rarely use my cell phone in the car, and if I do, I have a speaker system so I can keep both hands on my steering wheel.

I feel more alert when I'm talking-I never text on the road. When I'm not talking, I tend to wander into my own head which for me is worse

this is a huge issue in hawaii. i've nearly been hit so many times by a "cell driver" who just waves and drives away like it was nothing.

I use my headset and dont get distracted that way. I can barely text when not driving!

Hands-free devices are NOT the answer! It is not your hands that are distracted, it is your mind! Hand-up and drive!

Young man in Pittsburgh was seriously hurt and is in for a long recovery due to texting by the driver that blew a red light and rammed him.

I don't even own a cell phone.

I go to school at the local community college and I'm amazed about how many students are busily texting while driving.

Police should take reports of texting drivers and write these people tickets starting at 500 1000 5000 and points on their license.

All cell phone usage texting or talking should be against the law. people cant drive as it is.

I keep my conversation short while driving.

Texting while driving is idiotic and has to stop. Anyone stupid enough to do it should lose their driver's license immediately.

Cell phones and communication devices - period - should be banned in vehicles.

It's not worth being distracted by text messaging. It's bad enough to prevent from getting hit by a distracted driver.
