Gee, all the TSA officials tell me is that if I don't want to be assaulted/molested then I don't HAVE to fly. Well, TSO,s if you don't want to be verbally abused by righteously indignant Americans than you don't HAVE to work there.

Grow up for crying out loud.  The TSA is just doing their job to protect the public.  The complainers act like a bunch of spoiled brats.  Just wait until a terrorist makes it pass the security check points and then lets see what these babies yell about.

I fly at least twice per month, so I encounter TSA agants all over the country, and the MAJORITY of the agents ARE POLITE, COURTIOUS, and HELPFUL. Let's face it, they have a thankless job.

Personally, when I'm able to nap on the plane, I feel better knowing that the TSA agents were thorough!!

I travel to India every year. We subject ourselves to pat downs. The Agents don't use their bare hands to pat down, but have a sensor wand ( I mean a long electronic wand ), that the agent uses to scan.

I used to resent it, but, looking at the 'bare hands pat down approach', I think, this one is less intrusive. I would readily opt for the pat down by the electronic wand ( which would beep when an object is found, in which case, the agent would ask to declare ). We could saved the Billions in intrusive scanning too.

Hope good sense prevails.

Why does this invasive prodecure make some people feel safe? What does it for them when they drive or walk down the street. Everyday hundreds of people in this country die from accidents and that is part of the risk of living. TSA does not catch terrorists with these methods and never will. They are all after the fact methods. This is just a gimmick by the government to make people feel like they are doing something to keep them safe but they know it is just a show and so do most people flying. I do not fault TSA personnel as they do not make policy and are just trying to collect a paycheck but I do blame the chuckleheads making the policy. When I see all congresspersons and bureaucrats including Nancy Pelosi going through these scanners or free feels at least I know everyone will be miserable. Of course in Nancys district there is probably a line applying for the job of patting down (feeling up) travelers. I will not fly as long as this crap is going on. When they start profiling then most of our taxpaying citizens will be able to move about freely.

Wait..it's men who pat men down, and women who pet women down, right? Please tell me it's so..

i wonder if the nazis provided emotional counselling and support to soldiers who were just doing their jobs throwing people into ovens.

Are you kidding me?  This is the most rediculous thing I've heard.  You probably buy into those stories about Obama's Health Care Plan being equal to death squads, too. 

why not let those who don't want to be strip searched, board plane A. let those who don't mind wear bathing suits, which can hardly cover any thing get on plane B.and put all the one who wish to detonate themselves, on plane C .and when it gets full taxi out on a non used air strip, leave it go off, after the pilots deplane.. me i just want to get to where i'm going, safety comes first, with this child...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I want to see them have special flights for those who object to security measures. I personally want to fly "only" with passengers who have been thorougly checked! I don't care about pat downs or xrays. Do whatever it takes to have a safe flight. I have nothing about me that is so special that it's worth risking my or fellow passengers lives to hide.

Funny how things change. Just a few years ago a group of people were gung-ho for a certain Patriot Act. They'd defend it with cliches like "Freedom isn't free". Anyone who said "I think that's unconstitutional" was labeled with such choice labels as "un-American" or a "terrorist sympathizer". I've even heard "traitor."

Now that the whole "freedom isn't free" thing is starting to apply to them, they're up in arms about it. We "un-Americans" had a feeling this might happen, though. So you freedom fighters will have to pardon my lack of sympathy. You supported this path.

I wonder if the terrorists aren't actually in on this in riling people up against security. That would play right into their plans. Clever and so easy to do with Americans and their prudishness.

I work for the airlines and fly weekly. I go through the same security as everyone else. I listen to all you people bitch all day long!!! I watch people bully gate agents, destroy planes, treat flight attendants,etc. You are very stupid people!!! What you stupid people dont see is the number of contraband that is found on passengers trying to get it on a plane!!! The general public complains just because they can!! Dont fly if you dont like it and some of you should not fly because your stupid!!! Or better yet, do away with security all together, fly at your own risk, protect the airlines from being sued and if you happen to be on a plane that yard darts in some body's back yard, the NTSB, FAA, police and fire department will do all they can to ensure as many body parts as possible are sent to your loved ones for burial!!! Or will you bitch then that the government didnt do enough to protect general public from the terrors of flying?!?! "Just following orders" or "just doing our job" was not a legitimate excuse for Hitler's thugs and it sure as heck isn't a legitimate excuse now. You can always tell your thug bosses that you, as an American citizen will not participate in violating other American citizen's 4th Amendment rights, but you won't.
