Polka14 I don't think you have to worry about this one since the article was dated July 2nd of 2011. It seems that event came and went without us. LOL Now clearly you are opposed to the Naturist life style and that is fine. I respect that. I felt pretty much the same way basically due to modesty and embarrassment reasons when I was 20. However I was stationed in San Francisco at the time and was dating a young lady on a rather platonic level. We were more like bestus buddies if you know what I mean. We enjoyed just doing fun things together but it never became intimate.
Then one day she asked me to join her, her parents, and her siblings at their camp for a three day weekend that was coming up. I ageed expecting it to be like a camp site in a park where you hiked and maybe went fishing or something. Well to make a long story short it was a nudist camp. By that time I was in over my head and over 3 hours road trip back to my base with no transportation at my disposal. So I had to make do. To my absolute astonishment I was totally unaffected by the nudity. After about a half hour or so I was playing badminton, swimming in the pool, playing horseshoes, and so on. It turned out to be a very fun and informative weekend for me.
Since that time I try and visit naturist facilities when ever I can and I am almost 68 years old now. So don't knock it too severely until you try it. The trick is to visit legitimate naturist facilities. Some places are just excuses for obscene and uncalled for behavior but a truly legitimate facility is a great place for people from childhood all the way up to 90+. It is really not what a lot of people think. :=))
Portulent... Hmmm that is a new word for me. My Webster's doesn't list it and I cannot find it on the internet either. As for my nudity I don't streak if that is what you mean. LOL I only go buckers in the privacy of my own home or at an approved facility. HEH HEH HEH HEH
Ok so I have a few extra pounds. LOL I can still see my toes and I tie my own shoes so I don't think I am a lost cause yet. :=)) The one thing about nudism or naturism (there is a difference by the way) is that you simply cannot harbor a body image issue. You have to accept and be comfortable with your own body or you simply cannot tolerate your own nudity in the company of others.
Very few of us approach the perfect body image and most rely heavily upon our trappings to conceal our shortcomings. Clothing, padding, makeup, and what ever else is required to help us confront the rest of the world has become a requirement in our society today. In a nudist facility most of that image thing simply goes away and you interact with others on a totally different level from simple appearance. Certainly it is not for everyone though. HEH HEH HEH HEH
No.
Sounds like a very vile concept. They have the right to participate in that but I will not do so as I dislike the idea.
